National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) celebrates its 36th Annual Leadership Conference, July 21 – 25, 2012, at the Statehouse Convention Center, in Little Rock, Arkansas. In conjunction with the conference, NOBLE has partnered with the U.S. Marshal Service to host two special events in tribute to the legendary deputy U. S. Marshal Bass Reeves (1838-1910). These events will take place on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Peabody Little Rock Hotel, 200 West Markham Street, Little Rock, Arkansas.
At 1:00 p.m., Community Outreach. This event is designed for the inter-city youth of the City of Little Rock, ages 9 and 10. The event will feature the readings from the book titled; “Bad News for Outlaws The Remarkable Life of Bass Reeves, Deputy U. S. Marshal” as written by author Vaunda Micheaux. The book won the Coretta Scott King Author Award. U. S. Marshals personnel will perform
the readings to the youth.
